Now you need to check that it’s performing well, attracting and engaging site visitors and generating real leads for you to follow up.
Measuring your web metrics is a critical step in determining whether your website is producing a positive return on your marketing efforts and serving users in the manner you intended.
Below we highlight three tools that we as a company use everyday to monitor our website’s performance. They are all free to use and available on Apple App Store and Google Play – so you can keep on top of things in the office or on the move.
01. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics for performance management on 90% of the websites we build. When it is properly set up, you can quickly and easily generate reports that show you how your site visitors are interacting with your website, the journey customers are taking, the pages that are working for them and the pages that aren’t.
You can measure the value of your social media efforts, see how your website is performing in search engines for keywords and phrases and, critically, track your conversion goals.
Google Analytics also dovetails very neatly into some of the search giants other products, such as Search Console and Adwords, which is very handy.
While not as powerful as the web application, Google’s official smart phone app does allow you to check key metrics and view built in reports, see real time data and access your goal tracking.
If you’re serious about tracking your website’s performance, this app should be one of the first you install.
Mailchimp is one of the most popular email marketing services available. It’s free to use (up to 2,000 contacts) and has a ton of useful features for analysing how your audience is engaging with your content.
From event invitations to impressive email newsletters, we produce many bespoke email designs for our clients. Once the code has been put through our email client simulation software, we can use Mailchimp to distribute to your audience.
The Mailchimp app makes it easy to stay on top of your email marketing no matter where you are. You can track subscriber and campaign activity, view campaign reports, and add new subscribers — all from your mobile device.
Social media marketing can seem like a daunting task with so many networks and so little time. Hootsuite lets you take control of all your social networks in one place.
You can bring your team together and manage LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and more, from one dashboard.
The best feature is their analytics which allows you to see how your social marketing is performing and how your audiences are engaging with your brand. You can even keep track of your social selling.
The Hootsuite app allows you to share and schedule posts from your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts all from one app. It is also free to use for up to 3 social network accounts.
